Photo Ready!

Before I get into this post, I first was to say a BIG thank you to those of you who actually read my grumpus post from this weekend and left those thoughtful comments that I appreciate so much.  I am out of that funk and the sun is shining today -- and your lovely thoughts helped to pull me out!  So thank you, guys! :)

Ok... on to Photo Ready!  The title pretty much sums it up -- I am (and have been for quite some time!) SO READY FOR A NEW CAMERA!  After a lot of research and some helpful tips from some photography friends, I have decided that the Nikon D3100 will be the camera for me -- one that has everything that I, as a very novice picture taker could want and need in a camera..

Sigh.  Isn't she beautiful?  Although I would probably opt for just the black model -- but still.  Quite a beauty!

My only problem?  The money!  I have been trying to save up for one of these babies since last August when I decided that I had to have one... I actually had a pretty good amount by December -- but then Christmas came and there was no Christmas bonus to be had, so I had to spend it.  Since then, it seems like every time I save a little something, it always gets away from me...

I had a friend on Facebook tell me how she saved for hers -- she simply requested that all family members only get her Best Buy gift cards for Christmas and her birthday.  She said that really helped her, and after a year, she was able to go in and get her lovely camera.  The only problem?  My birthday JUST happened, and Christmas seems OH SO FAR away.

But that's okay... it will be worth the wait... and by actually getting gift cards (especially from Best Buy which is somewhere I never really shop), that saved up money won't slip through my fingers so easily...

So ONE DAY... probably in the much further than I would like it to be future, I will have one of these.  And it will be perfect.  And I will have a new hobby.  And again, it will be perfect... lol.

Any of you have any more tips about saving up a little money on the side?  I'd love to hear your suggestions!

  5. That is a good camera! I am in the market for a new camera personally. When I bought mine it was what I needed but with my business now I need to up one. Same problem as you though...need some money! Try looking on ebay. You might find some slightly used ones for cheaper than listed on say Amazon :-) Sorry I've been a stranger! I'll do better!

  8. Fantastic choice!!! My husband surprised me with a Canon Rebel for my 30th and I was blown away but SO crazy ecstatic to finally have one all for myself. I love it, I know you will too when you get to your goal. Are you making money blogging? You can put all of that towards your new camera :)
