I tell you, I really had so much fun doing this! It was relaxing and exciting at the same time. Label me whatever you must, but I think I found a new hobby - trying to be creative! :) lol. This wreath was a good project to start with because it was really quite simple. Here's how I made this little sucker:
Supplies (I got all mine from Michael's):
- Wreath
- Silk Flowers
- Hot Glue Gun
- Craft Paint
- Pain Brush
- Wooden Numbers

| Yes, of course I bought Martha paint. This particular color is Yellow jacket. |

| A nice glass of wine and something Martha. Wonderful. |
First thing's first. Paint your numbers. I don't know if there's one specific way that is better than any other. I just painted as uniformly as I could avoiding any build up that would cause lumps.
Let your numbers dry. It took about 20 minutes for them to dry. Apply 2 more coats.
While the numbers are drying you can begin to put your flowers on the wreath. I did this a couple of different ways. For the white flower, which was place in the middle, I first cut off most of the stem. I then placed it through the wreath and secured it by looping it through a couple of times.
For the green flowers - placed on the outside of the white flower, I left the stem on and weaved it through the wreath for a secure hold. I then cut off some of the remaining stem once the flowers were secured.
So while you were attaching the flowers to the wreath, your last coat of paint should have dried. So far, the wreath looks like this:
All that you need to do now is hot glue the numbers to the wreath. After you have glued the numbers to the wreath and they have had a chance to dry, you'll want to go back and make sure that they stuck there GOOD. My 0 was not, so I just went back over it with the glue gun. It's not going anywhere now!
Here's the finished product!
I'm so excited to get to the house and hang it on our front door. I will be hanging it from the door as soon as we get there on move-in day. It will be my "This house is OURS" statement.
What do you think? I did okay for my first project, huh? ;)
